The United States has lowered its terrorism threat alert from "high," or orange, to "elevated," or yellow, NBC's Pete Williams reports.

I just seen this on CNN. I have the feeling we are going to be in this up/down pattern for awhile.

The worst thing about all of this is...I think people may be starting to ignore the whole terror alert thing. I hope I am wrong, but I just get that impression.

Unfortunately, complacency probably will occur as we maneuver back and forth between alerts. The last one was needed though due to the "chatter" which actually came true unfortunately in Saudi Arabia and Morocco.

You know... the complacency argument is very valid. I hope it doesn't happen. Because if it does, that is when the terrorists will be more able to strike us.
