We are putting my best friend to sleep tomorrow

#1 Postby cajungal » Wed Jun 29, 2005 9:44 pm

I can't stop crying.   We have to put my beloved Yorkie; Lacey to sleep tomorrow. I had that dog since I was 15. She is 13 and we got her when she was only 6 weeks old. I was so attached to that dog. She slept with me every night. She has kidney failure and she is really suffering. I am an animal lover and I get so attached. I am really hurting right now.

I am so sorry to hear that Cajungal. My dogs are my life, so when I had to put my 12yr old Sheltie to sleep back in 2003 it was really really hard. Just remember its the best thing you can to for Lacey. I will be thinking of you.

I am so sorry for your loss. I know how painful it is. I still miss my little dachsund. Just remember that you are doing the loving thing by taking away her pain.

I guess we all have these times in our life. It's hard - like losing a family member. I've never had a pet in my 16 years... But I can only imagine. I hope the procedure goes well; she'll be pain-free soon.

Oh no, I am so sorry... Condolences from a fellow Yorkie owner/lover. I am so sorry for what you are going through, prayers will be sent to you tomorrow, to be comforted.

Just remember that Lacey loves you and she knows how much you love her. I'm so sorry for what you're going through, just make her as comfortable as you can.

There's something very special about people who love animals so much while knowing they won't be with us for many years. The heartache you feel now will recede in time and allow you to remember the joy of all the good years. {{{{{{{{{{{}}}}}}}}}}

cajungal, I am SO sorry to hear this.....my heart goes out to you. Being involved and the commander of K9 Search and Rescue Unit, our lives REVOLVE around our K9 partners, loosing a K9 "is" worse than loosing a "human partner". Take care and if you need to talk, send me a PM, OK?

Here's a little something that might help.

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.
There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.
There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

cajungal - oh no, I really feel for you and what you're going thru. I know I will cry a bucketful of tears when this days comes for our family. Our Golden is like my third daughter, I am 'mommy' to her and my husband, 'daddy'. She just isn't a dog to us! I know how very attached you can become to a pet now....(I had a 24 year span without pets before our family got her).

My heart is breaking for you so please vent with us. There are so many pet owners and animal lovers (I am one, big time! I don't even bother snakes!) here at S2K. We'll help you thru this.

(((Hugs)))

My thoughts are with you. First I am so sorry to hear about this. I know how hard this time is for you, having been there myself, but just know that she will always have a special place in your heart and she will always be with you.

Take care of yourself.

I know what it's like to lose a pet, so you're not alone.
