What is the oldest article of clothing that you have kept all these years and still hanging in your closet or in your drawer?
Why are you still keeping it?
Me..... I suppose mine would be a coat, 12 years old I bought in the states.
I have not worn it since coming back home to PR. I will keep it in case I go to the states in the cold weather.

I have a blue cardigan that my Grandmother gave me when I was in the 7th grade. I will never part with it.
I have a shirt that is handmade that came from the Phillipines. A friend of my Mother's bought it for me when I was in the 5th grade when she went to visit her relatives.
I have all my art drawings and stuff from the 8th grade.
I have the old black dial phone that my parents had in their home when they were first married.
I still have my very first peacoat which was bought when I was in the 9th grade.
I also still have the bottle of "Sweet Honesty" perfume my Grandfather bought me for Christmas back in the mid 70's. Will never part with that either!

Mine
I have a victrola bought for $33.00 at an auction with my dad when I was 16--34 years ago. Daddy told me to bid on it if I wanted it and I was thrilled to get it. I brought it home and fixed the spring and now have a rather large collection of records for it that I play when I am nostalgic.

In my closet, the oldest clothing which I still wear belonged to my mom:
(1) grey cardigan (my security blanket -- I wear it especially when I need a "hug" from her);
(2) an authentic "muu-muu" which she bought in Honolulu in 1960 (I've worn it to theme parties several times over the years).
I also received her modest, original 1942 wedding set as a birthday gift from my dad a few years after Mom passed in 1985. I have worn it every day since then on my left hand with my own wedding band. And now that Dad passed three years ago, it is my material link with both of them.
