I should be drinking 8 glasses of water every day. But I'm lucky to drink half that. I try putting it in bottles and cups, but I just don't drink as much water as I should.
If you are someone who drinks a good amount of water every day, what's the secret? Sometimes my system just says "enough already" even though I haven't hit the quota.
It's not a taste thing. Not even that I like soda or any other products. Just have a hard time drinking water.
Anyone else fight that battle?
I guarantee you there are some of you who drink 4 or more sodas a day. I work with people who start their day with a Coke and have one nearby all day long.
Maybe I should try taking in water intravenously while I sleep. Of course, then I'd be dragging that drip bag back and forth to the bathroom all night.

Instead of that extra Krispy Kreme or Oreo, try a glass of water...
I've heard of that too.
From what I've heard from other people that have tried to up their water/liquid intake is that your body has to get used to having that extra water in your system.

I'm working on it.
These days, although I have cyber KK's by the dozen, a single real KK that weighs .000005 oz, adds 2 pounds where I don't want it.
Summer weather makes it easier to drink water...and I drink it if I have it with me all the time.
Could be related, of course, to the Nexium that is part of my routine. That purple pill might be part of the problem.

Steve, I don't take any meds, and, I'm always thirsty.
Checked for diabetes, so, that's ok. My liquids tend to
fluctuate, during the day, tho, I admit to more caffeine
than I should drink. I start with coffee, switch to a diet
Dr.Pepper, then, OJ or lemonade, back to Diet DP, and,
maybe a drink of the alcoholic variety, after work, if
the stress level is elevated!

Both Jim and Nina prefer water over any other beverage. I'm always trying to get milk into Nina....LOL She drinks at least 10 glasses of water a day. We bought a 5 gallon dispenser with a spout we keep in the fridge to chill it. Have to say the chilled water tastes good. But like you Steve it's hard for me to drink water. I just have to down it at the kitchen sink.
Another tip I heard was to fill a 2 gallon pitcher with water, and keep it by the kitchen sink. Just drink from it all day and by the end of the day, it's a good way to know if you got your 8 glasses in or not.
Good luck! I always tell Nina that 10 glasses a day and her 60 minutes on the treadmill, when her schedule permits, are two very good life-long health habits to get into. But she's always liked water, since she was very little! I've also heard there's a theory out there that mild asthmatics are sometimes dehydrated and all they need is water. Well, Nina shoots that theory - she has mild asthma and is always drinking water! I'm finding her empty glasses all over the house.....
It's my finding, that you either like it or you don't. I'm in that don't category!

Because I give plasma, I have to drink water. I'm don't drink pop, which means water, milk and Apple Juice fill my liquid cravings. I always have a nalgene bottle with me at all times. That's 32+ oz of water! There are many days that I drink 2 maybe 3 (possibly 4) nalgene bottles filled with water. I guess it depends on how thirsty I am.
