My apologies
I want to apologize for my behavior in the thread entitled "the way it was..."
My behavior was unacceptable and unwarranted. When streetsoldier said, "I am quit with you", that's when I knew I had gone too far. He shouldn't have had to say that, at all. And I shouldn't have said most of the things I said, and especially in the way I said them.
I came into that thread practically with a chip on my shoulder and instead of saying something like, "that's interesting and it's true times were good then, but I think things are actually still progressing and are as good or better now despite the problems we have," I said (paraphrased) "this is just fallocious logic. You people obviously don't understand that it's just an artifact of human perception of time. etc." Of course, I could have always just kept my figurative mouth shut and saved myself and others a lot of trouble and heated debate.
So, once again, I offer my apologies for my behavior to anyone who was insulted or otherwise inflamed by what I said. There was no excuse for it and I will try to utmost ability to remain civil in the future (despite my history of going over the edge).

Apology happily accepted, WidreMann!
One passage of wisdom I wish to pass to you...at your age, I was much the same; high degree of intellect, little sensitivity as to how I employed it affected others.
I learned through trial-and-error that great intelligence is a good servant, but an unwieldy and damaging master. With a little fine-tuning, some time and a "soupcon" of self-policing, you'll be just fine. OK?

Widreman, one of the great things about being here is the
fact that everyone enjoys the fellowship and conversation
with one another. Sometimes I come in here, just like any
place else, grumpy and tired, and, I know that it shows in
my posts in a sarcastic kind of way. But, there is always
someone who makes me smile or laugh and feel better, or,
someone shows me the err of my ways. There's too many
good people around to hold a grudge, and, you're still just as
much a part of us as you always were!
