I believe what Eric meant to say was that she was considered a "classified" person under the Terrorist Act...meaning, she has information, possibly gleaned from her time in captivity, that the U.S. wants to keep secret until it's prepared to go after the perpetrators.
The Secret Service protection she has comes form only one authority...that of the President himself. Apparently, the specific threats to her, and her family by her captors (who seemed to know a little more about her than they could have gleaned from even U.S. cable news) is obviously being taken very seriously.
IF Iraq had the opportunity to insert agents into the U.S. (and with our borders wide open as they are, this is entirely possible), Jessi and her loved ones may well be in danger...and as I said before, Jessi alone has information that the Army JAG needs for prosecution of future war crimes...much more explicit and detailed than any other American in theatre.
As to that background check, Perry...I can buy one on the Internet on anyone I choose for about that much. Why anyone would take the time to investigate your background, other than the Government (in which case you wouldn't know until it was completed, even then perhaps not), leaves me to speculate that this is being done by some private person, and likely NOT friendly to your cause.
As to PFC Lynch's bones, there is NO way they could have healed in so short a time...particularly that foot/ankle. Those bones take from 18-24 months to heal, even with metal or plastic pins inserted. The other bones were compound fractures...both legs, right arm...which by personal experience, may require at least ONE YEAR in their casts alone, much less the process of rehabilitation. If you want the number of my orthopoedic surgeon, I will gladly give it to you.

Yeah,that's what I figured Bill....if it were the goverment doing a background check, they wouldn't email me and let me know about it...
What concerns me most...the possibility some kook is digging for something in an attempt to blackmail me with. The threatening phone call occurred at 2 a.m., and the guy yelled "shut down your warmongering websites or die" (I told him to go to h#ll and slammed the phone down as hard as I could
The other two death threats came from England, so I didn't take them seriously....one of my friends also recieved one, tried to prosecute, and found out it was a 14 year old boy that emailed him.
The fool who called me last night may be the same idiot that's conducting the background check. The phone call was traced to Cleveland, Tennessee (I know no one there....my mom's folks all live north and east of Knoxville).
As for Jessica's injuries, you know more about that type of injury than I do Bill. I've fortunately never had a serious fracture in my life. Beth broke her arm, but was only 9...and was in a cast for eight weeks (but it was a simple fracture).
Thanks for the correction Bill...it makes her still being in the hospital much more reasonable to me. I was told the casts were coming off around June 1st and Jessica was going home in early June; but everything has changed since her brother told me that in late April (the last contact I had with any immediate Lynch family member).
The fact the family recently had a wheelchair accessible room added to their home tells me she's likely hurt worse than we've been told by the media.

Why would Iraqi agents want to harm or assassinate Jessica Lynch?
Because her rescue motivated the US forces to annilate the Republican Guard and sweep Saddam from power? That's all I can figure...because no one would waste terrorists or secret agents to kill a non combat supply clerk. It just doesn't make sense..
I just hate Eric and Debby not getting to see her...they were looking forward to it so

iraqi agents care about jessica lynch one way or another.

Iraq would want to pay particular interest in Jessi for two reasons...(1) she got away, and (b) she knows names, places and deeds...the name, FI, of the fedayeen Saddam commander, and maybe some of his underlings. Remember, it was recently made known that Saddam himself is paying cash for every dead American soldier...and she, due to her unwanted "celebrity", would be high in HIS "deck of cards".
She may also have eyewitness accounting of how the nine 507th troops died, and perhaps..JUST perhaps...which of the surviving members may be facing court-martial themselves for their actions, or lack thereof, during that ambush.
From what I saw "between the lines" in your original post, there may be TWO Army investigations ongoing.
