Are you superstitious?

#1 Postby azsnowman » Tue Jun 10, 2003 10:11 pm

I *think* this one's been before but let's do it again, I've got CRS folks, please bear with me :D

Are you superstitious? Me.....uh, yeah, somewhat.......since I've picked up the game of golf, I've got my *lucky shirt and lucky shorts* Being raised with Native Americans and the fact that I'm part Native American, it's in our culture, I know the White Mountain Apaches have GOT to be the most superstitious ppl I've ever met! They will not eat a wild turkey cuz they eat lizards, they will not eat bass cuz they eat frogs, they will not cut Aspen for fire wood, never figured that one out, they have a sacred mountain, Mount Baldy, Az's 2nd highest peak, believed to be the birth place of the Gan (pronounced gone) the mountain spirits (The Apache Crown Dancers)

Nope; what fears I have are real, and fully documented by the appropriate authorities.

Not really....I'm not crazy about black cats crossing the road ahead of me, but have never had any bad luck (that I'm aware of) because of it...

Other things I don't pay any attention too (have no fear of the number 13, but am a little leery of 666

I don't THINK I am....

I know Keith Langford of Kansas University is. If he's having a bad first half, he changes his shoes.

I am very superstitious. I try not to offend people AT ALL for I am so scared it may come back to me two fold. And I NEVER EVER gloat over someone else's misfortunes. I had to learn that one the hard way.

Like one week things started happening to me one thing right after another. I took that as a sign to fix something I have done or to figure out what I had been doing wrong. Sounds weird but true in my case.

I'm superstitious when it comes to golf...actually, it's more like I'm looking for something to blame besides the fact that I'm just not that good.

For instance: I will not use MaxFli Noodles anymore after yesterdays round. The ball just refused to listen to me when I told it to "sit", "run baby", or whatever other plead I sent its way.

I'm done with Noodles.

No, I'm not superstitious. I, like j, have trouble with golf balls listening to me. They alway want to take a bath in the lake or hide in the woods. I haven't figured them out but they all seem to be the same!!

Dennis, I hope you wash that shirt in between rounds. Whewwwwwwww Doggie

Lindaloo, doesn't sound like your superstitious. It sounds like you're a kind, thoughtful and considerate person!!!!

Bill, lol. Mine too

I am. I once said that "nothing bad has ever happened to me on Friday the 13th". Well, that particular Friday the 13th when I made that announcementI left work early because I was sick. I was making my way to the bank to cash my check when I was broadsided by a car trying to get out of a supermarket's parking lot. He didn't see me coming. I had a great case of whip-lash, twisted ankle and a totalled car. I'll NEVER say that again! :o

I am a little superstitious. 13 is my lucky number and I love Friday the 13th. I have good luck with anything pretaining to the 13th. But, I don't walk under ladders. :)

I used to be incredibly superstitious, probably borderline OCD. Well actually waaaaaay OCD come to think of it. Everything from lucky numbers to busting my bladder because I didn't want to get up during the 4th quarter of the game and jinx my team!
Since receiving Christ about 8 years ago, I've learned to live in freedom knowing that God is in control. When I fear something, I pray about it.
I even have 2 blacks cats and moved last December from FL to IN on Friday the 13th. (and only had one flat tire on the trip  )

Sometimes I am. I do have a black cat. He's a sweetie. Don't walk under ladders. I'm extra careful
on Friday 13th.I throw salt over my shoulder when I spill it. The usual stuff.

Well, I gotta admit, I'm a little superstitious today, Friday the 13th AND a FULL MOON! I know, I know.......this is silly but it's something seeded DEEP in my soul I guess.

Deb, I forgot all about that. I said I wasn't superstitious but I do throw salt over my shoulder when I spill it. Why do we do that again???
