SIL to be came in tonight saying gas at our regular station had gone DOWN over night from $2.65 to $2.59.

Hope it lasts but doubt it.

That is interesting but the same thing happened here. Yesterday morning gas went from 2.64 to 2.68 but by the afternoon was down to 2.66.

The odd thing is that every time oil goes up on the stock market stations change their prices even if they do not have gas delivered. It is almost like the old price wars in reverse, instead of who can have the lowest price on a corner now it's who can have the highest.

The oil companies want make sure that they squeeze that last penny out of the gas they made from oil bought in June and July whereas the per barrel prices we see are for oil to be bought next month. It's a ripoff to be sure but the Oil Companies have been ripping us off since the days of Rockefeller and Standard Oil.
