You need Ad-aware...It takes care of this as well as pop-ups..I have it.

Kazaa is one of the worst I think for attacking your computer. My teenage girls went completely crazy downlloading music and my computer was about to die before I got this

I use LavaSoft Ad-Aware myself. It's really a great tool and it's simple to use.

be careful with the free download version...it doesn't do what the 29.99 version does

I have Ad-ware (free version) and it works great! You will be shocked when yoiu run the first scan and find out just how much spyware you have on your computer!! UN-INSTALL KAZAA!!!! I lost 2 hard drives b/c of that crapola!! It is one of the worst spywares on the net!! If you need any help with ad-ware, let me know! I also have Zone Alarm for a firewall. Josh recommended it to me and I am very pleased with it! THX JOSH!

I may be wrong about the frre version. I think I read about it in PC World Mag. but could be mistaken.

btw...still have Kazaa, and comp seems to be running fine since I cleaned it up and this software is up and running.

Good luck Amanzi either way

Ad-Aware free version works for me. I also use Spy Bot, which is also a free download, and offers more tools and more frequent updates than Ad-Aware. This removes about 4 things a week.

Kazaa has a newer version called Kazaa Lite, without the spyware. (I have about 400 mp-3's)

I am amazed at the number of attempts that are made to communicate with my computer (from outside). That's a drawback of the always-on cable modem. You're a sitting duck for hackers, and a firewall is a must-have.

I have Ad-aware too and it works great. I had Kazaa too but I uninstalled it. It is full of spyware!! A great alternative to Kazaa...WinMx
I love it and best of all, no spyware!!! I downloaded Ad-aware and WinMx from download.com. They have ratings and reviews there as well and WinMx is highly recommended.
