A biblical size SWARM!

This is UNREAL folks, I've seen swarms of locusts, bees etc over the years, I've hit lady bug nests with the weed eater but this is nuckin futz :o For over 2 hours, we had a swarm of lady bugs, as God as my witness plus 15,000 other people, there was BILLIONS and BILLIONS of lady bugs all over town. I've NEVER seen anything like it before, there must have been a MAJOR hatch forest wide, like I said, as God as my witness, there are BILLIONS of these little dudes ALL OVER the place, as soon as the sun sets on the back of the house, I will snap a photo and post it, my back wall is COVERED with lady bugs, the WHOLE town is under siege. Has anyone else ever witnessed anything of this magnitude???? :o :o :o We "HAD" a problem with aphids on the spruce trees, cabbage, brussels sprouts etc, notice I said "HAD?"

in UT we had a Mormon Cricket infestation which literally turned the walls of buildings black by their numbers. If you drove anywhere, you had to wash hundreds upon hundreds of dead crickets out of your radiator and engine compartment (by the way, the smell of crickets roasting on a hot engine block is nauseating). The roads were slick due to millions upon millions of squashed bugs on them. Here we had a catepillar infestation that stripped the Mulberry trees clean of leaves for three years running in the early 90's. Couldn't even sit outside in the open as the catepillar droppings were falling like rain.

lady bugs have been a problem here for ten years or so!

Every 7 - 10 years or so, we have a streak of about 3 years where the tent caterpillar (Army worms) are thicker than molasses in January. talk about slick roads, I would rather drive on a sheet of ice than the army worms, they have a stench worse than dog doo when squashed. 2 years ago, my light gray house looked like I had painted it dark green, i hosed off the caterpillars and then had to scoop them up with a snow shovel to clear the sidewalk.

As for that many lady bugs, never seen the likes of that.

azsnowman- are they the asian lady bugs? thier a little different color than our lady bugs. & they bite!! A friend of mine had so many in her house she litterally was vacuuming them up by the hundreds!!!

Lake Effect, they are indeed the Asian species! I'm telling ya, it was EERIE seeing all these little boogers in numbers like that.

Driving to Gila Bend one summer to pick up my kids for the summer, I hit swarms of locusts like everyone has talked about, the road was so slick from them, YUCK! Driving along and all you could hear was "crunch!" Mmmmmm, now I'm ready for breakfast "LOL!"
