That reminds me of my Christmas present a few years ago.

Hubby got me a hand held anemometer, Warren Faidley's Storm Chaser book and a storm chaser t-shirt. I was right out the door measuring the
big wind we were having. 2 mph

Wonderful, Chad. :D I hope to get more "weather toys" in the hopefully near future. I have two digital thermometers that indicate the indoor and outdoor temperature. One measure the indoor and outdoor humidity, but for some reason... incorrectly.

Great start Chad! Although my wife could tell you stories about her 32 years (+ 5 dating) with a weather crazy, she's hung in there quite well. Please assure Jenn that I see no permanent damage.

Last summer, on the way home from shopping, we hit a monsoon thunderstorm while driving. The rain was intense and so was the lightning. A flash lit up right by her side of the car.

With intensity in her voice and a little passion for weather herself, she shouted out "C-G!, C-G!"
(meaning of course, cloud-to-ground lightning)

She's even been known to tap my shoulder while flying across the country and say things like "Check out that rainshaft from up here."

One thing the Mrs. should never expect, however, is for you to be the first one to head for the basement during a bad storm. If you go at all, it will be after the wall cloud, after the hail, after the 70 mph winds...and then only to tell her it is ok to come back upstairs.

Thanks Jenn...you are feeding this man's passion. Now just keep a list of your own ideas close by.

There is payback, Chad.
