Cable, dish or other
What do you have, cable, dish network or antenna? We've got cable, I don't know why
38$ a month for garbage, the only thing we watch is the news, TWC, TVLand and once in awhile CMT, all the other channels, whatta waste of time and money. We've only had cable on the mountain for 10 years, before that, we had to have an antenna, point it at Porter Mountain, highest peak in town, and pick up the signal from the relays from Tucson.

Cable for TV and internet. With hookups and box rental for 4 tv's plus the 'puter, we pay about $100/month.
We get 130 channels or so. I watch about 10 of them. The good part is that Sponge Bob Square Pants is on 8 times a day on the various channels.
Seems like a lot of $, but it's cheaper than going out, and I would hate to go back to dial-up internet.

Cable here. I like it best because while satellite seems to have more options, I like having the local forecast on TWC (not for the forecast but the local radar), and having local news, and the community bulletin board. It makes it easier to know what is going on.

We've tried both cable and satellite. We've decided that it's just a waste of money. 900 channels of garbage for the most part. And when we can be pried away from the computer, we mostly just watch the major networks like NBC and ABC, so we're happy with the antenna. Of course, Chad and I would rather die (LOL) than have dial-up again, so we use DSL through the phone company.

Cable here. I have it here in my bedroom and we have on in the other room (not far from my room), too. I don't watch that much television, mainly TWC, Fox News Channel and sometimes MSNBC and CNN. I like the Game Show Network, but haven't watched it much in the last several weeks.
Am so very glad, of course, that I got cable modem this past November, it is well worth it when you are online as often as I am.

I once paid for someone else's cable tv bill for over a year...kept getting "past due" notices. I'd drive to Douglas County Cable TV....only to be told everything was okay.---only to get another friggin "due notice".
We finally figured out what happened. The cable service was in dad's name....and there was ANOTHER Bill Williams in Douglasville, and his bill was paid in full. EVEN THOUGH he hadn't paid a cable tv bill in 13 months.....
How it happened was beyond me...we put our account number on the check, but apparently the clueless account clerk was disregarding it and crediting it to the other Bill Williams family three miles away.
Does anyone wonder why Douglas County Cable TV no longer exists...LOL!!
Boy have things changed. This occurred in 1981...and our monthly cable tv service was only $4.95 a month.

I have cable for internet and for television. Comcast just took over AT&T here. The internet service is great but considering our tv stays on Cartoon Network 24/7, I am paying waaay too much money. I have thought about going to satellite to save $$. Comcast is really bashing sattelite TV here in every other commercial you see. The area I am in is a small town and it's pretty rural even 3 miles from me, so satellite dishes are killing cable. For those that have satellite...is there really that much distortion on rainy/snowy/windy days? Do you really have to adjust your dish every other day?

Comcast and AT&T Broadband merged, they didn't just change in one particular area.
Eastern Massachusetts had a couple different cable systems, depending on where you lived in the area. Comcast's merge with AT&T Broadband has given everyone who has cable in the area Comcast. At least a portion of the south shore (south of Boston), in the Plymouth, MA area have Adelphia... where one of my brothers and sister-in-law live.
I've had Comcast here in Florida from the time I moved here in June 2000.
