Photo Released of Facial Transplant Recipient

#1 Postby SamSagnella » Mon Jan 30, 2006 11:46 am

I was fairly skeptical when word of this groundbreaking surgery broke several months ago, but I must say the results are nothing short of remarkable. According to the article, "Miss Dinoire's features were destroyed when her labrador savaged her while she was unconscious after a drug overdose. Her face was left a patchwork of torn flesh and exposed bone – so shocking that one of her two teenage daughters refused to look at her."

Given the extent of her injuries, this woman has clearly been given a new lease on life through this surgery.

According to an update of the French facial transplant woman, Isabelle, she has once again taken up smoking. She must have a lot going on: a daily regime of many medications, extensive physical therapy and now the media hounding her every move. But in her case, puffing on a smoke could be really quite a bad thing. Smoking reduces oxygen circulation in the blood flow, thus increasing the possibility for tissue rejection. This comes on the heels of a previous report in which such a tissue rejection had occurred.

She had a labrador, and that is what bit her face off. What did the dog want on her face that the dog had to viciously tear at it.

i've found several places where it's documented that more than a few ( i.e. a LOT) of attacks are attributed to Labs.
