Need some health advice/prayers...
I was at the skatepark today and went to go up a ramp. I didn't get all the way there and got hit from behind by a skater. Now, what I need to know is, what are signs of a concussion and how do I treat it? I could use some prayer right now as well...my head is absolutely killing me.
Thanks all.

If I was there with you, I'd ask you your name, what year it is, and who the President is. But I'm not so I can't. A headache is definitely a symptom, but there are many others.
Do you remember what happened before you were hit? Do you remember the events that followed? Did you lose consciousness? How's your vision? Are you sensitive to light? Are you dizzy or nauseated? Do you feel confused? Unable to concentrate? Are you distracted? When you logged in on your computer, where you able to carry out the proper sequence to get from the first log in to your ISP to the S2K page to the "Post a new topic" and so on without losing your stream of thought? In short, did you reach your goal and post a new message without a problem?
How does your head feel where the blow hit? Bump? Soft? Was there an open wound? (Closed or open doesn't matter, but you'd want to get it clean and dressed, if not stitched, if you got an open wound).
The best thing for a concussion is rest. However, let someone know. Have someone wake you -- either in person or by phone -- every couple of hours. Take tylenol for the headache -- NOT ASPIRIN!
Finally, if you have ANY doubts whatsoever about the severity of your head trauma, go ahead and go to the ER (before taking Tylenol -- if your pain intensifies, you don't want it masked by the pain meds so that you can't tell them or aren't aware of the change in your condition).
Take care, Jeremy. Let us know how things are! Prayers coming your way.

I remember pretty well where I was. Currently not confused. I am distracted, but currently not nauseated, although I did feel so for the first few minutes before I got home. I found storm2k fine, and was able to know clearly enough what I was doing. There's not a bump there that I can tell, it was the rear left quadrant of my head that took the hit.
I'm going to take some tylenol and try to get a little rest. I'll let you know how I am doing a little later on.

Jeremy I think you will be fine but as was said earlier, if the pain increases even a little go to the ER. I think the reason Duckie told u to take tylenol instead of aspirin is because aspirin is a blood thinner, not something you want to take when theres even the slightest chance of a head injury. Good luck and keep us posted!

If I feel worse later tonight, i will just go ahead and go. Better to go and find that there was nothing wrong than to not go and have something be going on in there.
