BREAKING NEWS!!! Charleston, SC water

#1 Postby greeng13 » Fri Mar 31, 2006 8:50 pm

Charleston County SC and part of Dorchester County, SC is without running water right now.

A main broke in the water line so my whole "Tricounty area" is without water right now.....probably about 100000-150000 (this is my estimate). there are not any links on the web right now....but i called several news stations and just saw a report....

AFTER edit: I should probably say that this is not an April Fool's

The stores are packed...they are showing a live broadcast from the break in Hanahan, SC (Just a bit north of Charleston).

No idea when the water will go back online

link.....http://www.abcnews4.com/news/stories/0306/315505.html

It was a 48" main that broke...the largest in the state...and the largest leaving the treatment plant...

pressures are back up (not normal pressure)...b/c of loss of pressure issuing a BOIL WATER ADVISORY

edited to give a better link...and noticed it was more like 400,000 that might have been affected
