Bandwidth Speed Test

#1 Postby southerngale » Wed Apr 05, 2006 2:59 am

As I mentioned in another thread recently, I may be switching to DSL from RoadRunner Cable because it's cheaper and possibly, just as fast.

If you have DSL or Cable, and don't mind posting your results, please do so. Be sure to say whether you have DSL or Cable though. :)

Just click on Start.

RoadRunner Cable:

3.7 megabits per second
Communications 3.7 megabits per second

1MB file download 2.3 seconds
Subjective rating Awesome

Cable in Texas (avg. 1.92 Mbits/sec)
avg speed

I am a wee bit slower than you, but about the same. And I also have RR cable. I am curious to see others who have DSL. I am not so sure it will be as fast, I know it is suppost to be close, but who knows.

i would never have imagined it, but the results said the speed was too fast for an accurate result.

our network people have some explaining to do about why things appear to run so slowly around here!!

This speed test, however, this is one is a better one...

Not only does it measure download speed, but also it measures upload speed.

Comcast Cable - I didn't think it was going to be "awesome". It's better than dial-up, but Comcast stinks from cable television to cable communication for the internet. Something is always down.
