What are your plans for Easter Sunday?

#1 Postby cajungal » Thu Apr 13, 2006 9:30 am

Easter Sunday morning, I plan to go to church. After church, we are going to my grandpa's house in Thibodaux about 10 minutes away. Big family get-together with all my many aunts, uncles, and cousins. We are having a big barbecue. And later in the evening, we are having an easter egg hunt for all my little cousins. (mainly the great-grandchildren) My grandpa is doing a lot better now and he loves having all his family together for holidays. My grandma started this tradition ever since I was a baby and now that she is gone, we are going to keep the holiday get-togethers that she loved so much.

That sounds wonderful!!!!!! I love family traditions like that. Glad you Papa is feeling well enough for this.

I'll be picking my Mom up in Weirton and driving to my daughter's in Roanoke. My other daughter and her family will be coming down from Ohio. We'll be going to church and then having a family dinner. The kids are being baptised on Easter morning so is a double blessed day.

What a wonderful picture of your daughters, O Town!

We'll attend the 9:30 church service. Then our daughter, son-in-law, and "grand-dogger" will drive here from Vero Beach around 2. My sister will leave work at the airport early so she can be home by 2:30. Our neighbors (family of 3) will come over 3-ish. I'm making dinner: spiral-cut ham, grilled turkey breast, cheesy broccoli bake, green beans with dill butter, creamy potato casserole, baked sweet potatoes, deviled eggs, raw veggie tray-olives-pickles, fresh rolls, and homemade desserts: carrot cake and cheesecake. Kurt will be in charge of wine, beer, frozen rum runners, and apple-tinis. Of course, everyone will get to bite the ears and tail off their own chocolate bunies!

Happy Easter and Passover to everyone! :22:

Gosh DeeBee that sounds good. It will be hubby, FIL and I for dinner. I am making a ham, sweet potato, broccoli with cheese, spanish rice and biscuits. My FIL is making an italian munchie platter to take out on the boat with us. We will throw the ham in the oven and then go out on the boat for a little while then come home and finish cooking. We kind of mix up cultures, I am puerto rican, hubby is cuban, puerto rican, FIL is italian. He has raised my hubby since he was 8 years old, so my hubby considrs him his father. So we get the best of all three cultures for all holidays. :D

Happy Easter and Passover!!!!

Easter Sunday morning my folks and I will be going to the early (8:30) service at church, then Sunday School and then home for dinner. I went with my Mom to the market today and she bought a ham for the occasion. Then we'll all relax during the afternoon and evening (evening service cancelled).

Easter will be picture perfect here weatherwise. Sunny and a high of 84 degrees. Perfect for our barbecue and Easter egg hunt. Warm enough for shorts. I remember Easters in the past where it rained all day and we had to call off the Easter Egg Hunt. The kids were so disappointed. But, we are in a bad drought situation here and no rain in sight all week. I don't even remember the last time it rained here.

I do have family over here. Likely will go to church at least once - and watch several more services live from the Vatican (being Catholic, even if no one else in my family is). Probably will make dinner as well.

Let's see...kids will more than likely get up at the crack of dawn to hunt Easter Eggs in the pjs. Then they will eat the candy in them despite my pleas for them to not eat all of the goodies. After enjoying the sweet sugar candy from the eggs I will attempt to dress them in their Easter Dresses and snap plenty pictures. Go to church at 9am and then after church the easter egg hunt. Then we will head over to my aunts, uncle, and meme's house near Mobile Bay and have Easter Dinner and Easter Egg hunt.

Not happening now. It turns out we aren't supposed to go near my grandpa due to the fact he took a radioactive medicine. So, it's not going to happen, we're having a couple of family members over tomorrow.

Going to church and staying home with my family. Already did the easter egg hunt (for all ages) in a sci-fi club meeting yesterday.
