Poison Ivy once again

#1 Postby Tstormwatcher » Tue Apr 25, 2006 4:13 pm

This past saturday I went mountain biking and ended up with poison ivy. Right now, I've got 2 small streaks on my left leg. Last year I had it so bad ended up going to the doctor. I hope its not that bad this time. I am currently using benydrel cream but it doesn't seem to be working. What does everyone else use?

Calamine lotion. That helps to dry it up. Also, there's a wax soap called Fels Naptha (I think that's how it's spelled). You'd make a lather and then spread it on there area that has the poison ivy to help dry it out also. That's the key - dry out those bumps.

My brother used to get it every year, whether he was near poison ivy or not. We often wondered if it stayed in his system.

Ive had it, when I was little. If I remember correctly the doc gave me some cream to put on the affected area and it cleared up in a matter of days. I was miserable though.
