Fixing Things

#1 Postby Janice » Tue May 09, 2006 5:31 pm

Do you take your iron, microwave, dishwasher, can opener, vacuum cleaner, etc. to a shop to get fixed or do you chuck it and buy new?

Is it just cheaper to buy new these days?

I think my parents tried to get everything fixed before resorting to buying new.

We almost always fix everything ourselves. From the house plumbing and electric, to household items as you mentioned, as well as our cars. We are succesful about 99% of the time. If we can't fix it, it gets chunked and we get new. Unless it is something that can actually be fixed but its out of our capabilities then we send it out, usually the cars. We are lucky in that both my hubby and I are mechanically inclined. :cheesy:

Buy a new one. I am not mechanically inclined in any way. If I tried to fix something it would most likely ending costing me more money in the long run!
