Alleged fight party victims speak out

Three teens said they became unwilling participants in the controversial fight party videos.

The DVDs, which are sold on the street and feature teens beating one another, have showed that fight parties can happen just about anywhere, including a gas station featured in one video.

The alleged teen victims said they met with participants of a fight party at a fast-food restaurant after a basketball game.

"The camera man kind of juiced it up and said, 'Yeah, yeah you know what I am saying?'" one teen said. "And then all of a sudden they rushed this way and then everybody started fighting."

The teens said they were taken by surprise inside the restaurant.

"Everybody was looking," he said. "I was just trying to get out of there."

The teens got out safely after Arlington police broke up the fight, and police presence was actually visible in several other scenes in fighting DVDs.

One of the teens said the incident wasn't his first brush with fight party goers.

"Man, I've been jumped about three times," he said. "It's crazy."

Police said teens sell the videos for $15 to $20.

Tuesday night, Arlington police arrested four teens, which included Mike Jackson who they said was the young man behind the camera.

One teen said Jackson tried to pay him after the restaurant brawl, but refused to take the money.

Three teens and the juvenile arrested Tuesday face charges of engaging in criminal activity and aggravated assault. Others may also be charged, including those spotted cheering on the side lines.

5th arrest made in connection to taped beatings

TYLER, Texas (The Dallas Morning News) - A 19-year-old man was arrested in Tyler Thursday, becoming the fifth person to be arrested by Arlington police in connection with its investigation of DVDs of Arlington street fights.

Police spokeswoman Christy Gilfour said a sixth person - a juvenile - also could be arrested soon.

Arrested Thursday was Folarin Olawoye, 19, who will be charged with organized criminal activity and aggravated assault.

Arlington police discovered the DVD, Agg Townz Fights, following the beating of 16-year-old Kevin Walker in March.

The video's producer, Michael Jackson, 18, was arrested Tuesday. Another Arlington teen, 17-year-old Duente Lamar Gaines, also was arrested Tuesday. On Wednesday, 18-year-old John Barree of Dallas and a 14-year-old boy from Arlington were arrested.

The four also face the same charges as Mr. Olawoye - a felony that carries a prison term of up to 99 years upon conviction.
