Only when I wanted it to.

I have managed to make interesting things happen in my shop microwave.

an egg explodes real nice after about 1.5 minutes

You can cook a hot dog real nice from the inside out if you put a thin peice of stainless steel wire through the middle first.

Those long halogen bulbs do really neat stuff as they rotate on the platter at full power.

With metal grounding braid you can create a form of plasma that acts very much like ball lighting (gotta be quick on the power button or else it will melt the inside of the micro)
