I'm Off to my Divorce Court Hearing

Aww Mary, I know it's been a long road to get to this point. Of course you know I wish you the best. I went back to my maiden name too, years ago. I was so happy to be "me" again! I literally was ready to close that door, in 1984. Sounds as if you are too. Which is a good thing.
I'll be thinking of you.

I have been there too and did not change my name only because I wanted to wait till the kids graduated. Thought if we all three had the same last name they would not be confused. As they got teens, we talked about it and it was ok with them. I changed it. Hey, good things to come for you in your future, hace a great life.

Thank you Janice, Stooge and Miss Mary! I'm a free woman and it feels wonderful.
I've already got my new drivers license ( I look sooo happy in my new picture) and SS Card on the way! Now I'm off to the bank, comcast, phone company and to make calls to my credit card company and Chrysler for my car payment to change my name on the bills.
All I have to do now is get him off my life insurance and beneficiary stuff at work!
Hip Hip Hoooooray!!!!

Now treat yourself to something extra special, just for you. Massage maybe? Shopping spree? Have your hair done too.....
What I remember mostly is being in charge of my schedule. I didn't even go home after work some nights, I just stayed out and shopped, ran errands, and on Fridays met up with friends for happy hour.
Sometimes I didn't even fix a real dinner. I clearly remember one night realizing if I wanted popcorn for my dinner, no one could stop me. Oh yeah, I'm such a rebel!
But in my case I went from my dad's house into my first marriage. I had never been on my own before and I mean really on my own. At first it was somewhat scary but then I just loved it!

Thanks for the wishes Karan! I think they do have Happy Divorce cards at Hallmark! LOL. Kinda like this:
Happy Divorce To You!
Today is the first day of your new life
You are no longer George's wife
You are free to pursue your goals and true calling
And no more having to put up with his crap and name calling!
