Southeast Texas is getting a taste of Hollywood with a new movie set to be filmed this summer in Beaumont and surrounding areas.
The name of the film is "Noble Things". It gives a fictional account of an up and coming country music star in Southeast Texas. Brett Moses, the co-writer, producer and star of the movie, is a Vidor native. Moses says the goal is to cast some local talent in the film. Wednesday Moses said there will be spots open for some supporting roles as well as extras.
A crew of about 30 we be in Beaumont in early June for pre-production of the project with filming to begin in July.
Moses say the film is all about Southeast Texas values and bringing the Golden Triangle into the national spotlight.
Pre-production for the movie will begin in Beaumont next month. Moses says the times and locations for casting calls for extras and supporting roles will be posted soon.

Well well, I just may give it a shot.
I doubt I'll make it, but I was involved in Drama in high school and even got a Drama scholarship, so who knows?

What fun! And it is a lot easier than you may think, to get a local role. Just go in and be yourself, be natutral, and wow them with a great personality...my good friend here is an agent in Hollywood, and she and all 3 of her kids work in films, commercials, and print...she gets chosen by being herself...not much make up...good luck and let us know how it goes!
Remember my kids did a couple shows when we first moved out here...they had soooooo much fun doing...its a definite life experience!

I've been an extra in 2 movies that were filmed here:
"The Patriot"
and "Cold Mountain"
Pretty fun stuff but incredibly early and late hours! For "The Patriot" most of the calls were at 4:00 a.m. and we did not get out until 8:00/9:00 p.m.
Cold Mountain I had a call at 2:00 a.m. got out at 7:30 a.m. and then went to work and the scene didn't even make the final cut

No part...just an "extra"...
in The Patriot you can only see me for about 5 seconds
and for Cold Mountain you can see me pretty well but only if you have the DVD and look in the "Deleted Scenes" (I walk right by Jude Law and I have a head bandage on and a crutch and I am coming out of the water during the "Hospital scene") also i have long hair and a full beard
