Canada probes 'troop abductions'

This is getting scarier all the time.........

OTTAWA, Ontario (Reuters) -- The international coalition of forces in Afghanistan is investigating a report that some Canadian soldiers have been abducted in the war-torn country, Canada's Defense Department said on Wednesday.

Al-Jazeera television earlier quoted Taliban sources as saying the group had abducted an unspecified number of Canadian soldiers. Canada has 2,300 troops in Afghanistan.

"(We) are aware of the al-Jazeera news report. However, (we) have no information at this time that would validate the report. Task Force Afghanistan is investigating the status of personnel in Afghanistan. Canadians are involved in that investigation," said a Defense Department spokesman.
