OK- I am totally freaking out

#1 Postby JTD » Fri Jun 09, 2006 1:17 pm

It didn't hit me until just a couple hours ago but now I'm in full panic mode almost ready to cry. LOL.

OK, here's the deal. I met some-one online on April 22nd. We've been talking on the phone for hours and hours and e-mailing since then. Well, today we finally meet. The plane arrives here in a town near-by at 3:15 and we are spending the weekend together.

OK now why am I panicking:

1. What if we don't like each other and this person says "I'll just pretend to be nice to you so you don't get embarrased in front of your parents." I don't want that.
2. What should I wear? Should I wear cologne? Will it make me look hotter if I spike my hair or won't it make much of a difference?
3. We say we love each other but it can't be true love. We've never even met. I think we made a big mistake by not exchanging pictures. I mean I'm kind of cute but I'm not movie-star material. This person is, from what I am told, is stunningly beautiful. How will they ever be attracted to me?
4. What should we do all weekend? There's something called Montrose Days going on. I guess that'll work? How can we stop from being bored.
5. When we meet at the airport, should we just shake hands or should we hug or what?
6. What if my parents don't get along?

OMG.

Be yourself and do what feels right.

And why are you parents involved in this?

Wow, Jason! You are brave! No exchange of pictures and youa re gonna meet up! Woohoo! Braver than I am.
But just be yourself and hope for the best...the worst thing that will happen is the weekend won't go good. The best thing is that you guys will hit it off and love each other even more.

So good luck dude!

I still live with them. Have a good job and all but too lazy to move out. It's a good deal here too living with them. We're staying at my parents.

Thanks, Justin!

Staying with them is fine but ditch them for the first meeting!!!!

It will work out, you should know each other well enough to not make it too strange. The picture thing would be the only thing concerning me.

And hey one thing I've worked out is that if this person doesn't like me (whereas before it'd shatter my self confidence), this time I'll be like in my head "it's your loss. I'll find someone that really appreciates me."

I am at peace with whatever happens but at the same time I am not though. LOL.

I agree LOL nholley about ditching the parents.

Ditto. Just be cool and have fun. That's why this person's coming to meet you anyway. :)

Best weekend! Ever! We really are in love. Honestly, it couldn't have gone any better. Just thinking about is going to make me cry again.

The worst thing was at the airport this afternoon. We both burst into tears when it was time to leave. And I cried for about an hour. I was OK until I looked and saw tears just streaming down this person's face. Then when I saw the plane land, that's when it hit me. But it's not the end. It's the beginning. It's not goodbye. It's "See you soon" I was really really happy but really sad at the same time. I miss this person so much already.

I was so freaked out about my looks but we both think each other is really cute. Now, I'm freaked out about how to make this long-distance relationship work. LOL. Always something. But my mom told me just to enjoy it and not worry about anything too heavy yet.

The good news is that there is something called Pacific Coastal airways that has really cheap flights so that helps a lot.

It was awesome. I'm a changed person from the me that wrote that post on Friday afternoon. This person changed the course of my life and we're head-over-heels in love.

Thanks Garrett. I'll send you a PM tommorow with details.

Glad it went well!!

Where does she live? I did the long distence thing for a while but there comes a point when it becomes a pain and starts to impact things in a negative way. It sounds like one of you needs to move if things keep going well!!

Wow, this is an amazing story. So glad your weekend went well. I do believe in true love at first sight, my dh of 10 years was just that.

I hope this relationship is everything you want it to be.
