My youngest daughter

Jeanne thinks the storm is going to hit Disney World in Florida. She saw something or heard something said and now she is asking me about the Disney characters and if they are going to be okay. I told her that they would be okay like we are. They will not be harms way. Little ones imaginations...but she understood that they will be okay. Please don't ever let a major one hit Orlando and Disney World. She will go crazy. That is her favorite place on earth since we took her and her sisters for Christmas.

Maybe you can reassure her that Mickey and his pals will evacuate. :) I'm willing to bet, somewhere, some newscaster out there who also happens to be a parent would add that little touch of heartened encouragement and consolation to youngsters who might be watching the news also, in the rare case that a major does threaten to brush across FL near the Magic Kingdom. Of course, it is a bit inland from the coast, but that doesn't mean flooding couldn't be a problem. I'm certain that even if the park gets a dose of damage, the PR guys will let everyone know that employees and "characters" got out safe. :D

Charley kind of worked Disneyworld over in 2004.

She thinks Cinderella and all of her friends went to another Disney Park to visit. I didn't even know that she knew that there was several different parks around the world. Where do these kids learn these things?

Yes, that is a good idea GalvestonDuck had. Tell her all the characters are evacuating. Let her know everything has been planned and all will be ok.
