I am lucky to be alive

#1 Postby Scorpion » Mon Jun 26, 2006 11:24 pm

I was taking my friend home in my car and we're on a two-lane road. I hit a turn and there is a large puddle since it has been raining recently. I didn't see this puddle and I skid out of control into an oncoming car. I overcorrect and start fishtailing and the car swerves into the grass out of my way. I do a complete 180 and wind up on the sidewalk. Thank god there were no objects in the way. I was extremely close to hitting a tree. I am almost certain both of us would have been severely injured if not killed if we either hit the car or the tree, as the car likely would have flipped over going 45 mph. Very harrowing experience.

Glad your okay, Scorpion!

Also, when rain is occurring...roads can be slick from any oil build-up mixing with the rainwater.

And of course puddles can cause hydroplaning.
