Strange sounds heard across Waterloo County
I could not find a news story on this... yet. But, my mom heard on the noon news on the radio station about it.
Okay, last night around 10pm I was at my friends house on the 9th floor of an apartment building in northwest Waterloo. The thunderstorms had just passed, but there was still distant thunder rolling in. All of the sudden I heard over the music a loud bang sound... then another... then another. We turned off the music, and stepped on the balcony and this bang sound just kept going on. We started counting the distance between the sounds, and they were 5 seconds exact apart, and only about 1 second each. They were extremely loud, other people were on their balconies too looking to see anything.
We went back in, just before my friends uncle got home. He came in and ran to the balcony and said about 10 minutes ago when he started home from south central Waterloo that he could hear bang noises, and they were stil going at this point. He said he could hear them inside the car and it didn't change volume level from Uptown Waterloo to his apartment. He was the one who pointed out they didn't last anymore than a second, or that they had no echo.
Suddenly these sounds just stopped, and with it the rain, wind, thunder and lightning. It was so wierd. Her uncle even said "I can't guarantee you it's not the end of the world". We were a little edgy.
Okay, my mom just got home now, and asked me if I heard anything strange last night. I said "do you mean those bang sounds last night?". She said yes, and could I hear them too. I told her about what I heard, and she said that they could hear them when they were getting ready for bed, so they went out front to check it out. Other neighbours were standing outside talking about them, and she said it was loud too but had no echo. She looked a little worried to me, she said it might be something above us. Meaning, religious stuff.
Anyways, she heard on the radio today that last night between 10 and 11pm 911 dispatchers received over 100 calls on the sounds, and they couldn't answer any questions because they didn't know themselves. I'm waiting for the 6pm news to come on, maybe they will have a story on the sounds. 911 received calls from as far north as 20kms from here.
It was really wierd, I can't even describe them. They weren't explosions, and they were coming from farmland. No gun shots either, they were too loud. It was just really wierd how the volume of them didn't change even if you were moving closer to them from a distance.

Weird, there was nothing on the 6 o'clock news about that. I was watching the CKCO News from Kitchener-Waterloo. However, I only watched the first 5 minutes because of the thunderstorm damage everywhere in Ontario.
I have no idea what those sounds could have been. It might have to do with the thunderstorms somehow though. I didn't hear anything if that matters
.
Keep us updated, this is neat.

It was definetely a weird night last night just after 10:10pm here in the Toronto region. Such violent winds all of a sudden that took everyone I know by surprise...it was just so sudden...the sound of the wind was unreal. Pearson Airport had winds gusting to 98km.h at least!.
And the long streaked lightning... and I could see just weird bright lights lighting up the sky, especailly to the west... it just seemed so weird.
What was happening was that these thunderstorms, as they were racing into the Mississuaga/Toronto region..racing at 40-45mph from west to east... were weakening at the same time... and according to the Weather Network.. this meant that the precipitation was evaporating on the way down from the clouds...and this would have been enhancing the strong blasts of winds that the entire area was seeing.
Really weird night. Then by 11pm, it was all over.
The temperature drop at Pearson was from 29C 84F to 22C 72F in less than an hour (between 10pm and 11pm).

I say UFO's.
But really man that is the scariest thing ever. No echos, loud no matter where you were, and when they stopped so did the storms. Maybe it is the end of the world. I hope it is to I can't wait to get off Earth.

It went on for a long time, no way could it have been ball lightning. There was no flashing in the direction it was coming from. Or any factories.
What about military bases? There was something in my area that sounds almost identical to this. The media finally traced it back to the military base and a spokesman simply said it was a test that resulted in sonic booms.

Yeah, but sonicbooms usually include echos. Anything that is super loud and doesn't have an echo is supernatural to me.

We're relying on hearsay to base a claim for the supernatural? The supernatural requires evidence.

The closest military base is at least 200 kms from here. Plus, no planes would be testing things during a tornado outbreak, and derecho.
Some friends on my msn said they heard it to.
The end of the world seriously crossed my mind. I was thinking maybe it was God banging drums before Jesus would arrive or something. I was freaked.
