Cable Provider Change

#1 Postby TexasStooge » Tue Aug 01, 2006 7:08 am

It's official, Comcast has been changed to Time-Warner Cable. The change takes effect today, however the channel line-ups will remain the same.

Yesterday, both Comcast and Time-Warner announced that they finished the acquistion of Adelphia's assets. To make this work, they had to swap some systems.

In my area of SW FL, they announced today that Time-Warner customers would now be Comcast customers. I am already a Comcast customer so nothing will change for me. It all depends on where you are and if you are a part of Adelphia, or in one of the areas that was being swapped.

Not sure if this is a good thing or not. Competition is usually always good.

Supposedly Time Warner is pulling out of the Houston metro, and I don't even know if anyone is taking their place, or who, or if we are all gonna have to use sattellite from now on....

Does anyone here know anything more about this?
