WASHINGTON - Scientists have discovered the presence of a strain of bird flu in wild mute swans in Michigan — but testing ruled out it being the worrisome, highly pathogenic form of the virus which has spread throughout much of the rest of the world, officials at the U.S. Department of Agriculture said Monday.

We have a big problem around here with "non-migratory" geese. They're a population of geese that decided to stop flying south for the winter and north for the summer. They take up residence in ponds and rivers and just stay. You would not believe the mess they make. Poop everywhere!

I wouldn't mind a goose virus. Maybe it's time for a real cold winter.
