Firefighters from all over the state with also firefighters throughout the nation were at the funeral/mourning services for Lt. Wolff. There was a walking procession from St. Bernards Catholic Church to Fire Station #5 (Arnie's assignment). They walked under two ladder trucks with an American Flag draping off the ends of the ladders. Overall, there was approximately 1,000 firefighters in Dress Blues attending the funeral for the Lt. Wolff. (Not including the invited public) Unfortunately, Lt. Wolff was the first ever GBFD killed on the job... he was the first in the state this year. His partner, whom also fell through the floor into the basement, survived the incident that took Lt. Wolff's life. Fire Departments from around Northeast Wisconsin covered in the GBFD positions while members of the GBFD were mourning the loss of their brother. Sadly, the same day as the funeral was going to be his 27th wedding anniversary. Wolff was posthumously promoted to Lt and was given the medal of valor (the highest medal of honor for firefighters.)
