Lemons with some brown flesh

#1 Postby Grease Monkey » Thu Aug 31, 2006 12:23 am

I just cut open a sunkist lemon I got from publix and noticed some of the flesh looked brownish and dry but it smelled like a normal lemon. This is not the first time i've seen this with a lemon. I was just wondering if anyone knows if this is normal.

Yes, lemon turns brown when it's old. Old lemon juice looks like chocolate milk.

Ewwwwwww. I have never seen a lemon that had brown juice. Yuck. I have used a lime or 2 with brown spots on it but was just fine in the middle still worked well in my mixed drink. :D

Thanks for the info. I never seen brown juice before either. I think that lemon had a disease.
