Any concern about sizable wave action? Any thoughts?

When I left Southern Cali years ago - I never thought I'd have to contend with Earthquakes here in Florida. That was most definately unsettling.

Well I didn't feel anything but, I told my girlfriend we would never move to California cause of earthquakes. Better not tell her about this one..

Anyway that was kind of weird seeing that news story and seeing a M. 6 from the USGS. I hope it's not a precursor to anything bigger.

I live in Pensacola, FL and I also noticed the quake. I didn't really feel it, but use a projector for my TV and the picture jumped around quite bit this morning for about 5 seconds. The deflection was about 3" at 12'. The picture does move during contruction and such, but the deflection during those times is only 1/2" or so.

OK...so if this is the main shock, no problem...but if this is a precursor to a stronger quake...how strong before we have to worry about tsunami? I live almost at sea level (Dauphin Island)...so I'm not just playing around...

This new quake is not far from where they found the new oil sources in the Gulf. They drilled through 20,000 feet of rock. I wonder if all the drilling could have some effect with the shifting. I doubt it though. http://money.cnn.com/2006/09/05/news/co ... tm?cnn=yes

Didn't feel or hear nothing here. Hope these last 2 most recent quakes are not signs of things to come.
