The deaths of the mother and unborn child were awful enough. I'd really hoped the other three children would be found safe somewhere.

Is there any "good" news out there anymore?

No. When you turn on the evening news on TV, count how many bad news story's there are compared to good news story's. I did it and out of like 7 or 8 there was 1 good news piece.

Locally, we are still reeling from the tragic murder and seemingly sad, sad young life of the 3 year old foster child, Marcus Fiesel. Not much surprises me anymore, which is also a sad realization. I honestly wonder what has happened to our society. Did we always have these murderers in our midst but now with the internet and constant media coverage, are we just more aware of them? Or have good values just about disappeared? I don't really expect any answers but each time we learn of another murder, and in this case 5 murders, if you count the "fetus" (I do), you find yourself shocked to the core. Once more. Brought to tears and your knees. Why? Also in this case, if you read the local articles coming out of that area, the lady responsible was a lifelong friend of this mother. Both women grew up together, knowing eachother since early school days. Often pregnant with their children at the same time (and both teen mothers). Both helping eachother out and babysitting for the other. When you learn these details the story is much more disturbing. Some friend. Makes you question just about everything - your family, your friends, your neighbors, your coworkers, even, dare I say it - your friends online.

I'm done. Shocking, shocking story.

:-(

Mary

PS - *edit*, not done. After yet another shocking murder case, I am once again reminded of what we all need to do. There has never been a time I suspect that goodness needs to spread. You can begin with everyday, random acts of kindness. Just open a door for someone who needs that kind gesture. Allow someone to go ahead of you in the grocery, who is in an obvious hurry. Let someone cut in front of you in traffic. Little things that just add up and make this world a nicer place, IMHO. Hug your kids and tell your loved ones how you really feel about them.

This time, I'm done. Otherwise this will start to sound really preachy and that is not my intent. Just trying to make sense of another truly tragic story. :-(

It almost sounds like something you'd see in a horror movie.

I can't comprehend how this crazy woman could take a pair of scissors and cut open the abdomen of a pregnant woman and take the baby.

This happened right here in Pascagoula one time. The daughter of a preacher here was pregnant and this crazy woman did the same thing. Only difference is the police found the baby two hours later, alive right around the corner from MY home!

I wonder why the ACLU and the NAACP has not stepped in on this case. SEEMS they would want to figure out WHY she did what she did!
