As the saying goes, "You Can't Fix Stupid".

This is not the first time it happened.

:removes sensitive-guy hat:

That's funny--ha ha ha...

The best part was right after he said "final answer"... you can see the voice in his head start yelling at him.

...and a better part that wasn't shown in the clip: the moment his buddies at college found out.

Well, his house will never be flooded.   Poor kid.

I have one of those surge protectors and I put it between the bottom of my outside door and the carpet. It's good for keeping cold air out and also, if flood water should try to enter my home thru the front door, they say it will stop any surge!!!!

Nothing is going to protect against a surge of water. Looks like that contestant took it rather well. I wonder if something like this has happened before?

Gotta be embarassing.
I'm sure it's not the first time something like this has happened. Funny nonetheless.

You're right, others have gone out on the $100 question before. One person needed a lifeline on the $100, 2 lifelines on the $200, and missed the $300.

Someone on this show once needed a lifeline for this question:

"What color is the Cheerios cereal box?"

He used the "ask the audience" lifeline and 98-99% said yellow. It was like the $300 question.

I'm just curious to see what the other choices were.

I can't remember what the other choices were. I know another choice was blue but I guess the rest were colors too.
