Any Jane Austen fans out there?
Dave's out of town again for 3 days, so I'm indulging myself with watching my fave movie versions of Jane Austen classics: Sense and Sensibility with Emma Thompson; Pride and Prejudice with Colin Firth (be still my beating heart!); and Persuasion. Dave throws a fit when I put these DVDs on, so for that aspect, I'm enjoying his absence.

Sense and Sensibility is one of my all time favorite's!!! I watched it yesterday. Oh, when Edward told Elinor that he didn't marry Lucy Steele

Southerngale/Kelly is a huge fan. I stumbled upon the newer P & P rental and loved it immediately. Then we rented the A & E version. Loved it too.
We discussed this in depth on the 2006 Movie Rental topic. Probably a few pages back.
Although considered children's books/movies, have you tried Anne of Green Gables? That's my personal favorite series, in this area. When life gets too complicated and you need a gentler time period, I joke we need an Anne day. The first movie is when she's in school. The second and third are when she's in college and then teaching. Again, my personal love story of all time. And I stumbled upon Anne's story by reading the books (7 in all) to my oldest daughter. We'd read a chapter each night before Nina would go to sleep. Oh how we loved our Anne (still do!).
