LAPD beating
As far as I'm concerned its a waste of man hours for the FBI to investigate. The man is clearly resisting while they are trying to handcuff him. Where is the beating? It looks like the officer is hitting his upper arm so that he can get the handcuffs on. Yes, the police has his knee near his throat, but I don't hear any problems with him talking so I assume he is getting adequate intake of air. You run from the police then you take your lumps and don't complain. Violation of his civil rights - Give me a break!

I don't get why the FBI is involved either. The article states that the department had already begun its own investigation of the arrest and the officers are on administrative duty.
However, I do agree with what the article says that the video shows -- the man is being punched in the face, not the arm. But, hey, they're law enforcement.

I'm with you Linda. Make it impossible for Police to do their job, and someday when you need them, they WON'T be able to help you.
Damn fools

I still say it looks like he's getting punched in the face. First of all, you can see the officer's fist go down inside his (the officer's) thigh along the leg that is pinning the suspect down by the throat. Secondly, the guy looks a bit bloody. But like I said, they're law enforcement. Gotta do what they gotta do. Sounds like the guy was a handful and could have been worse if they didn't restrain him.

Well, darn it...how do you post a screen cap on here? I watched the video and froze it at one point where it looks like he was hit in the face. Again, I'll emphasize "looks like." I have a screen capture of it, but I'm not sure how to save it as an image so I can post it.
Doesn't matter to me where they were hitting him. They were justified.

He is clearly being hit in the face. It is quite obvious...
The officers admit to it -- Taken from the same article.
"The officer and his partner described repeated blows to the suspect's face in their written arrest report, as well as efforts by the man to resist and their concern that the man might grab one of their guns, according to the document obtained by the media."
The suspect IMO must have done something prior to the events on the video to cause the officers reasons to be concerned, hence I have no problem with the use of force.

Ok...that was not violent...IMHO of course, the guy cant breathe? if he couldnt breathe, he wouldnt be able to say "I cant breathe" it did seem like the guy was being hit in the face (and even the news report stated the officers wrote in their report they hit him in the face several times) however, if you listen, you can hear one of the officers saying "Let go of me"...it appeared the blows were only hard enough to make the suspect let go of whatever he was holding/trying to hold...

Why doesn't the video show the whole thing from the time the police arrived on the scene?Sounds like the person that posted this on YouTube was trying to make the cops look like the bad guys by posting a pathetic 15 second clip.He was obviously resisting arrest and the police were concerned about him grabbing their guns,I think they were just using necessary force.
