Observation Report For 11/17/2006

#1 Postby Ptarmigan » Sat Nov 18, 2006 12:56 am

Another clear and pleasant night worth of starwatching. It was a bit warmer than last night. Anyways, let's see what I saw through the 8 inch telescope.
Pleiades (M45)
Hyades
Andromeda Galaxy (M31)
M32
Double Cluster
NGC 129
NGC 457-Reminds me of Gumby.
Tr1
M103
NGC 752

M=Messier
NGC=New General Catalog
Tr=Trumpler

Saw a meteor streak by in the northwestern part of the sky. It was yellowish-white and rather bright, I'd say around magnitude -1 to +1. Overall, not a bad night. I would like to see the Leonids. 8-) :grrr: A great night of observng.

Where are you in the Houston area that you don't have a wash out from too much light pollution?
