attitudes

#1 Postby Lindaloo » Sun Dec 10, 2006 8:09 pm

Have you ever been around two people that when they are together have the most nerve racking attitude? But then one of them leaves and the other one is just as nice as they can be, but upon return, they get back to their same old mess? It gets old and so obvious. Plus, one has to be the center of attention 24 hours a day. Gets on my nerves!

You bet! Now that I'm away from the workaday world, I can be particular about who I spend my time with, and all drama queens are off the list - male or female.

I hear you. At work I've experienced the drama queens, etc. and unfortunately it's something you just have to put up with while at work. I try not to let it bother me but it can be easier said than done.

There is one in particular -- gossipy and negative.

Part of the time, she just wants to sit and gossip. One time, I couldn't help but laugh out loud when I went into the breakroom and heard this -- "...and I told her that if I wanted to say that I would have told it to her face. I wouldn't have talked about her behind her back. I don't do that." *snicker* Um, yeah, right.

And I don't get people who get into patient care work...and then don't care for the patients. I don't care if it's the fifth time in three hours that a patient has to poo. If the patient is a fall risk and caregiver-dependent and wants to use the potty, help them to the darned potty! Trust me, they don't like having to ask, after living so many years being able to do their activities of daily living (eat, drink, bath, poo) independently. But now they can't and they're here for care. So...care, by gosh!

Grrrr...rant over. :)

Linda, ya gotta share details. How bad is it?

No kidding. That is too sad. I can imagine how hard it is to have to ask for help like that. :(

Yup, but I gotta tell ya, it's not the nurses. Although there are a sad, few (very few) exceptions...for the most part, nurses rule!

You are one of a kind Duckie. I tell you what though, when I get old I can only hope there are still people like you around to take care of me. (((HUGS)))

Yep, I've experienced that first hand.

Now as for those kinds of people...I may only see them for a few fleeting seconds, but I'm sure they're there at my job.

((((HUGS))))) back atcha, babe!

I hope they're still around too. Because when you get old, I'll be right there with you. I'm only a few years younger, remember? But I'd still wipe your nose or eyes or whatever if you needed it.

Yep. I know the type. You can't say anything about something that happened to you because they have to one-up you. It's sad really.

Exactly Duckie. Sometimes you'd like to discuss something that is affecting you without having to have the comeback of "well, you know, THIS happened to me". And what happened to this person just HAS to be worse. It's gotten to the point where I just keep my mouth shut because no matter what you say, it's gonna happen. And when this person is in a position of power, it makes it worse because you feel like your hands are tied - they will always win.

Heck, I guess I'm guilty of it in a way. I offered my own anecdote above. But only because you were asking. :)

It's when it is done every time you say something that the problem comes in Duckie. I cannot recall you ever doing this to me, unless you were trying to make me feel better about something.

I used to kind of sit and laugh at this one particular person because I could imagine them stomping their feet in a tantrum because the attention wasn't on them. But then it just got old.

I do believe the person I work with is cloned and working with all of you. I kinda make a game of it anymore and count how many times she does it. The bad part of it is her nose is shoved so far up the boss' rear that when he opens his mouth you can see her eyeballs!!!!!!  Hang in there guys and have fun with it cause they're not going to change and why should you let them make you miserable. (However, you could just smack them right in the mouth!!!!!)jk jk
