Traffic mess in Florida

#1 Postby JonathanBelles » Tue Mar 13, 2007 11:41 am

The Florida Turnpike is closed between Ft. Pierce and Kissimee for a major pileup and fire near YeaHaw Junction. There are multiple trailer trackers envolved along with other cars. There are at least 5 dead. The cause of the crash may have been the Brushfire burning along the turnpike.

I-75 IS very congested due to an accident at Fletcher Ave. I-4 is also running very slow

Wow!

Four people were killed on Tuesday after an accident along Florida's Turnpike near Kenansville.

The crash involved five big rigs, and a sheriff's deputy also was struck by a car while assisting at the scene, WESH 2 News reported.

The deputy was transported by helicopter to Holmes Regional Medical Center in Brevard County.

The Turnpike is closed at Mile Marker No. 209, which is north of state Road 60 between Kenansville and Yeehaw Junction.

Stay with WESH 2 News and WESH.com for further details.

Wow, that's pretty nasty. About 3 years ago I was driving up the turnpike and there was a backup at least 2 miles long. I think a tractor trailer slammed into a small coupe... I am sure the occupants of the car were killed.
