Horrific murder of boy in Brunswick, GA (caution for lang)

#1 Postby JQ Public » Sat Mar 24, 2007 9:36 pm

I just saw this on MSNBC and couldn't believe the type of people that live all around us.
I hope they get the worst the law can throw at them...and then some!
Sorry if I'm repeating a post but I did a search.

msnbc wrote:"SAVANNAH, Ga. - A convicted child molester and his father took turns sexually assaulting a 6-year-old boy while the molester’s mother watched, then they choked the boy to death, according to an indictment issued Wednesday.

The indictment charges all three family members with murder and child molestation in the slaying of young Christopher Michael Barrios, whose body was found last Thursday inside a trash bag dumped by a roadside.

It also claims George Edenfield and his 58-year-old father sodomized the boy and forced him to perform oral sex while Peggy Edenfield watched and masturbated.

“They deserve the worst, for them to torture my son like that, every last one of them,” said Mike Barrios, the slain boy’s father."

I agree JQ. I am following this story and I was horrified at some of the details. That poor little fella! I hope they get exactly what they deserve!

The bullet is too good for the likes of them. Each of them should suffer as horribly as that poor child. They deserve hell on earth...before they get to hell.

Edited to add: I've no sympathy for child terrorists....and thats exactly what molesters are, terrorists. God only knows what that child suffered. :(

I also have zero sympathy for child mollesters and murders. This is a horrific case. Hopefully justice will prevail here. I will pray they can seek the death penalty. Although a quick death would be too easy for these 3 hateful, evil excuses for human beings. My heart breaks for what this sweet child endured.

I am beyond heartsick over hearing of yet another murder like this. They just do not seem to stop. Here in our city we're still reeling over the murder of an innocent 3 yr old last August. Justice did prevail in that murder - both foster parents are in prison (wife, 54 to Life, husband, took a 16 yr plea).

Y'all know my take on the issue -- let's kill the pervs and keep letting the bodies pile up. I'm sure there are plenty of kids to spare. *sarcasm*

As this boy's parent, I'm not sure if I would be able to contain my anger enough not to kill each one of them. This is horrific in ever sense of the word. That poor little boy.

JUst put them in a normal prison with the non-child molester inmates. They will get the slow sickening death they so deserve.

I know that if I was a parent of this child not one of them would live to see the courtroom or jail.

Duckie - you know I love ya, but you'd be surprised how quickly your stance on the death penalty can change when a brutal senseless murder touches your own family. The more details that come out, the more painful the murder becomes.

Fry 'em.

just bring back drawing, hanging, and quartering.

This is a type of offense that is why the Cruel and Unusual punishment amendment needs to be repealed (and I do not support death in non treason cases, but I would look the other way this time). Scum like this deserves to be punished on Earth and severely, BEFORE they have to explain their actions to Christ

My grandmother may say, "Let God will punish them," but since I'm not sure of God existance, or any other God for that matter, they can't leave the Earth without being severely punished. They should be put through the electric chair at half power so it takes a lot longer to die.

I understand where you're coming from, Cindy.

It's just that for every child who is molested and murdered, there are hundreds more also being molested, yet allowed to live, on a daily basis...and still more who are also going to be molested and killed. It's just my opinion that it would be beneficial if there was some way we could learn to recognize who is likely to engage in this sick behavior and put a stop to it before it happens instead of waiting for the next spread-eagled baby's body to be found at the side of the road.

Of course, I don't really believe those who do this deserve to live either (that's my emotions talking, but not my true feelings). But what I'm saying is that if John Doe sexually assaults and kills Baby Jane and we can talk to him and his family and try to learn what signs or triggers there were beforehand so that we could recognize the potential for this behavior, then maybe somewhere down the line, someone else might happen to see that potential in Jack Smith and could get him help to stop him and prevent another child's life from being destroyed. Of course, just because I think John Doe shouldn't necessarily get the death penalty for his crime in NO WAY means I think he shouldn't be punished or let go after serving time (I hate when people misinterpret that). I think he should serve the rest of his life in prison and never see the light of day.

On the other hand, ever since 9/11, I haven't been as staunchly pro-life as I used to be. You KNOW how I feel about terrorists. :grr:

In a perfect world Duckie we would be able to prevent the molestation of children. Forgive me if I've become jaded, but since we are unable to prevent these types of crimes we must therefore prevent these particular monsters from ever doing it again. I wish I could say I have 100% confidence in our judicial system, but I am witnessing first hand how these things go.

Like I said, I'm with you there. I don't think they should ever see the light of day again. There should be no such thing as repeat sex offender.

(Gosh, did you and I just have a mini-debate exchange? Was that our first? :) )

This absolutely turns my stomach...it is hard to imagine what that little child endured. How helpless his family must feel...I would want to end these people's lives.

Let's hope our society continues to be outraged at instances like this...far too many children in the news who have become victims.

During the last 2 weeks, a local (licensed) day care owner was arrested in what was thought to be ONE child sexual abuse case. It has turned into 88 offenses that covers several years. How could so much happen without anyone knowing?? One victim said she told her parents (a few years ago), but nobody believed her.

Same here. How would I feel if someone was to do that to my future kids?

why not have castration as part of the sentence (and in an extremely painful way... mayne pliars).

If that's what it takes to stop this, then by all means employ it
