I had no idea places like this still existed. Good for them - I hope it's a success! (those organizing a separate whites-only party in 2007 ought to be ashamed :oops: )

I was surprised when I read this letter. What surprised me the most was that the segregated proms were organized by the students themselves.

from reading the article, it does not appear that this attempt will be a success either.

The students do not seem to want change. If we support letting the people decide (which as many know I hardly ever support), lets not force change down their throats

It did happen and it was a success by all I accounts I have heard.

Unfortunately, you will always have your diehards in the South. I've lived with it for 52 years and some places still haven't gotten past the 60's prior to the civil rights act. IMO, some of them need it shoved down their throats.

There is an Arkansas school district that is in it's 4th day of a walkout... the students walking out.... Black... the admins (almost all white)
