Other Than Sleeping...........

#1 Postby Janice » Wed Apr 25, 2007 4:07 pm

When you are home from work or whatever, what percent of your home time (awake) is using your computer?

I would say I am on the computer 50% of the time.....

A lot... 75%? Probably 20% spent watching TV and the other 5% doing things outside.

Thats a hard estimate. I am a severe multitasker. If I am on the computer I am usually watching TV or talking on the phone or doing homework. I would say 50% of the time at home I am sitting in this chair.

Now that I have a laptop and am 5 feet from the TV, I do that a lot too. Most of the time when I watch the best TV, during the commericals I am on, when the show is somewhat boring or it's just general news(which is mostly what I watch during the day), then I'm usually on the computer the entire time. My obsession lately has been promos, LOL. I can watch them over and over and over again.

sadly, I use it quite often. Probably 30-50% of free time on a normal day (lots of the times I multi-task and do TV/Computer/sometimes food at once), and on an active weather day I am on the computer probably 70-80% of the time. Some days though, if it is really nice outside or if I am on vacation my time on the computer is probably only 5-10% of the total free time.

About 45 minutes a day on the internet... 6 hours a day wandering about in the wasteland of Word and Excel.

Entirely too much. About the only time I am not online is when my dad is on the computer or when I am at work. I have a major internet addiction. During Hurricane Season, I spend almost all my time on storm2k. And in the off season, I have a major myspace addiction.

About 75 % for me, I don't cook any more, my hubby does the cooking now. But I do get outside to water my daylilies on the day we can water.

I'm kidding, I use the computer a great deal since a lot of my coursework involves computers.

I do manage to get a lot done at home, tho. I will work for about a half hour, then break at the computer for about a half hour and so on. So, I go back and forth. I find my computer time does not really keep me from getting my work done around the house.

Not so much now that it is nicer outside; I check my email a few times a day at work and reply from there if I have time; usually only online at home on the weekends or if I have something specific to do, such as pay the bills around the first of the month; by the time I argue my 14 year old son into bed for the night (he thinks he should be allowed to stay up until what ever time he wants  ) I am too tired to turn the computer on. If I had DSL I would probably be online more from home, but we shut the computer down when it is not in use, and by the time I boot it, dial-up, etc. I have wasted five to ten minutes, depending on how slow the connection is that night.

Since my work is at home and involves the computer I would say 75% of my entire time at home is at the computer.

My life seems to revolve around the computer unfortunately. If I am not on a message board, I am emailing friends and colleagues, typing lesson plans, writing research papers, or on Facebook.

I would say about 75% of the time.
