CWMRO spam from S2K?
Earlier this morning I received a message from a website calling themselves CWMRO. The message indicated that some folks were disappointed with S2K. The message came to me via my email addy.
What is going on? Has anyone else received this email? And how did they get my email addy? I have a suspicion that this is the work of a guy named Skywarn Spotter from the weather.com forum. Anyone have any info, please?

Frick, they just clicked on "email" that can be found in any one of her posts, and Outlook Express will pop up with a new message and the email addy already filled in.
Btw, Storm2k grew without sending hundreds of spam messages to other weather boards. Thanks for letting us know.... we've received a lot of complaints about it.

Well, I was invited and I had no idea who this person was. Incidentally, it didn't bother me. I just mentioned it.

Since when is spamming hundreds of people you don't know to go post somewhere else called inviting friends?
Nobody is judging. Read the thread. Members are posting that they received PM spams. We've received many complaints about it as well. That's not "judging."

Are you suggesting we shouldn't believe all these people that they received PM spams to join another board from someone they've never spoken to? *scratches head*

Well I am hearing an entirely different story. I am hearing you guys are banning people for just inviting thier friends and no one else to other sites. CMWRO was doing mass inviting of friends when it started months ago and the administrater quit doing that due to complaints on other sites. CMWRO does not allow spam inviting. I realy dont think CMWRO is doing any thing of the sort. From people I trust they said they were only inviting friends. Who do you want me to believe my friends or the staff of S2K?
I was just saying that people should not assume it is CMWRO that is in the wrong and should look at both sides of the story before they start judging a site.

That seems like judging CMWRO to me. I was told S2K also did this when it fist started out. I dont want to argue but as a member of CMWRO I just felt I needed to defend the site. I would not be a member of the site if it did do anything like this. At one time months ago there was some of this going on and it was put to a end because of a few people including myself being unhappy with it. Now we just invite friends and that is it.
Have a nice day my friends.

To be honest, I am really not overly concerned with who you believe. Since you're a member there and your only posts here are regarding CMWRO, your motivation for posting here is clear. I was just clearing things up for our members. There has indeed been a lot of PM and email spamming from your board, using our board. That's the facts.
If you want to think Storm2k is in the wrong for members from your site spamming the members here, so be it.

I think we now have both sides.

Well, one of the major problems most people had on S2K before the fallout was constantly having to walk on eggshells for fear that you might hurt the feelings of some overly-sensitive people, God forbid.
I signed up for CWMRO just out of curiosity to see if it was different. It's not.
You can't be the new kid on the block and expect to overtake another site by being a carbon copy. It's certainly fine for anyone who has friends over there, but S2K has nothing to worry about.
