TWC is closing its board

#1 Postby azsnowman » Thu May 31, 2007 9:54 am

While S2K was down, I was cruising other boards, thought, what the heck, I'd try TWC again and to my surprize I saw on TWC Forum from their Admin that they are closing down!!

I know a LOT and I do mean A LOT of us came from TWC after that bloody night (Miss Mary, it WAS Friday, I remember VERY well....I lost SLEEP over the fight that night).

I made more friends over at TWC, LASTING friendships, I've even met some of the "old" members face to face.

It's the end of an era for sure....but because of TWC, I have MANY GREAT friends!

So did I.

I figured they might be closing it due to low usage.

Oh well, that means more users for S2k!

Friday huh? I could have sworn it was a Tuesday or Wednesday. LOL

Oh well, it was one dark day but we found a place here now didn't we?

RIP TWC. What next - the channel? I wish someone would come up with another wx cable channel. It could be done!

I can't get in either. Guess it really is gone. (I did manage to post a few recent replies and get one more "Cantore Rules" comment in, before the very end....he he).

Wow, an end of an era.

If not for TWC's Chat Room and eventually their forums, I never would have met ANY of you! So for that reason, thank you The Weather Channel. Now, maybe they can concentrate on wx? Sorry, had to make that jab.....LOL

Before I close, I always thought TWC would be my favorite forum site but suffice it to say, S2K filled that void. Perfectly. I think many of us TWC lost our respect, long ago. Not just recently. But when you heard their boards were closing, it was a shock! After all this time too.

RIP TWC Forums.

I have continued to visit The Green Thumb forum and have made many dear gardening friends. We are having a reunion in Philadelphia in July and I can't wait to meet some of these wonderful people.

I will always be thankful to TWC for wonderful friends. I think my first friend over there was Dennis. What a big ole teddy bear!!!! I can still remember decorating the christmas trees, having picnics and taking care of our beloved animals. That's where I realized that Bill (Streetsoldier) should write a history book and Poppysky should be a diplomat. That's where I steeped my first cup of Earl Grey for Miss Mary and we all shared grannies afgan when we needed some warmth. We shared pain, sorrows and so much love and friendship for one another. It was only the beginning.

I came over from there shortly after that "Black whatever-it-was-day". Glad I did.

Hi Grim, how the heck are ya??? Good to see ya.

When you talk to Furry, tell her she is missed. We didn't get to hear if she learned how to snowboard yet.
