How much do you sleep a night?

#1 Postby DanKellFla » Sun Jun 03, 2007 5:17 am

I have been under a lot of stress lately and it has affected my sleep. I was getting upset when I didn't get 8 hours of sleep at night. After a few weeks of this, I realized that I hadn't been getting 8 hours of sleep for years, and I function just fine. Actually, I am fine with 7 hours and occasionally less. How much do you sleep, and do you think you get enough? FYI, I am 38.

I am 32 and I get an average of 6 hours per night. I'm fine with that. I'm an early riser, no matter what time I go to bed. I've never been one who can sleep past 7am. I usually get up on my own about 5:45am.

34 here, and I sleep about 8 hours a night. I can do with less but seem to function alot better closer to 8. Too much sleep isn't great for me either it can just make me lazy all day.

I know I need my 8 hours of sleep. During the week it's 7 so I make up for it on the weekend. I'm 44, going on 45.

Seven hours typically, but can function ok on as little as six for extended periods of time before crashing and burning. I agree with O Town about getting too much sleep. Anything over about eight hours, and I'm sluggist the next day. I'll be 46 in September.

The ideal amount of sleep for me is 8 hours but 7 hours is fine and anything less I feel tired but can still function.

These past 2 weeks I've been getting between 2 and 4 hours/per night. I'm working nights right now and I just can't sleep during the day.

I get between 4 and 5 hours while I'm in bed. More than that kills my back. However, thoughout the day I might have a couple of 10-15 minute catnaps. At 67 I don't need much sleep. In fact, If I start slleping a lot I know I have an illness coming on and don't fight the need.
