IE drop to bottom problem fixed?

#1 Postby x-y-no » Fri Jul 27, 2007 7:23 pm

If you are using IE and are having the drop to the bottom of the page problem - please clear your internet temporary files and see if the problem is cured for you.

Please let me know if you are still having that (or some new) problem.

Thanks.

Yes, the problem is cured for me. I am using IE6. Also, it was cured even without clearing my Internet Explorer cache.

Thanks!!

OK.

Let me know if I seem to have caused some other weirdness.

yep! :P when clicking an external link it takes you directly there rather than opening a new page or window thus leaving s2k.

Hmmm ...

Is that different than what it used to do?

I habitually right-click and select "open in new tab" so I don't actually know what the behavior has been normally.

I don't see how I could have caused that - so maybe it happened in the upgrade to RC3 ...

Oh yeah, that does happen, but not all of the time. And I don't remember it happening before the upgrade. Hate to say I haven't watched for exactly when it happens and when it doesn't, but I can watch it now and try to pin it down.

OK, I see what's happening with links ...

If you just type the URL and let phpbb convert it to a link for you, then it will open in the current tab. If you use the URL bbcode, then it opens in a new tab.

That's a bug in the phpbb posting code.

this happened shortly after the first upgrade. Chad fixed it, now it's back. Don't know if it's another upgrade by phpbb or _whatever that is)- or not - just thought you'd like to know! Actually up until either yesterday or today it was doing it like it is supposed to.

Didn't have to do anything, but it's fixed. Haven't tried to open up a link yet, so don't know about that.

Hurray! Thanks so much. I thought it was something I did. It was very annoying, I'm glad you fixed it.
