What are you watching this summer?

#1 Postby HarlequinBoy » Sun Sep 23, 2007 12:41 am

Yay, the 2007-2008 Tv season has arrived, so what old favorites and potentially new ones is everyone planning to watch?

Me? I'll be for sure watching Ugly Betty, Grey's Anatomy, and Pushing Daisies (new).

And I'm going to give all of these shows a definite try Private Practice, Chuck, and Samantha Who?

Depending on whether or not I decide to forgive the CW for canceling my beloved Veronica Mars I'll also try Reaper and Gossip Girl.

At some point I want to catch up on 30 Rock because I regret not watching it last year. =\

LOL @ Brent!

Question - when do you sleep? LOL

(J/K.....)

As new shows go, we'll try the one premiering Monday nights sandwiched in with our favorites, such as How I Met Your Mother, Two and a Half Men and we'll still tolerate Rules of Engagement (yawning at times). I forget the name of this new 2007 show but one of the 2 male leads played David on the Rosanne show.....we meant to watch Kid Nation but forgot about it. We also enjoyed the new show with Kelsey Grammer and Patricia Heaton (I'm warming up to her I guess, could NOT stand her in Raymond though)....

Returning shows - the 3 above, plus Desperate Housewives, New Adventures of Christine (when it comes back), The Office (my #2 must see TV show), Earl, ER, 30 Rock, Scrubs, Jericho (when it comes back).....

And my #1 current favorite show but I have a long wait......

LOST! (hurry up February 4th!).

Mondays

How I Met Your Mother (watching online)
Dancing with the Stars
24 (Jan)
Heroes
CSI Miami
Journeyman(New)

Tuesdays

Dancing with the Stars Results
NCIS
House
The Reaper (new)

Wednesdays

Pushing Daisies(New)
Private Practice(New)
Kitchen Nightmares(New)
Lost (Feb)

Thursdays

Ugly Betty
CSI
Grey's Anatomy
Supernatural
The Office
Scrubs
Without a Trace

Friday

Numb3rs

Sundays

The Simpsons
Family Guy
Dexter
Desperate Housewives

I have seen the season premieres of "Pushing Daises" and "The Reaper". I liked the shows, but I'm afraid they wouldn't last too long. They are kind of quirky (in a good way), but too much for their own good (if that makes sense).

I'm going to have get a season's pass on iTunes for Supernatural on Thursday I think. With The Office and Scrubs, alternative downloading methods will have to employed (stupid NBC). It looks like the DVR won't be too overworked this season.

These new sitcoms just don't impress me, the only shows currently still being aired that I like is Scrubs and King of Queens. Other than that I just watch my DVD seasons of Seinfeld lol. Besides, during the fall I watch more football and baseball than anything else.

Someone watches more TV than me!

FWIW... I suspect half the new shows will be dropped by me or cancelled by November(just like last year), and I read a startling fact the other day, only 1 in 3 new shows make it to a 2nd season! But I have very high hopes for Chuck, Private Practice(Grey's spinoff, automatic built-in audience), and Dirty Sexy Money. Pushing Daisies is said to be the best pilot of the year, but I agree with you, I think it will be a cult show and have a hard time being a big hit.

Oh and FYI: Lost is being rumored for Monday or Tuesday(Monday is actually the latest rumor). Now it could go back to Wednesday but it's not looking likely. It all depends on how the ratings look for the all-new lineup(can't remember 3 new shows all in one night in a long time), but ABC is treating Private Practice as a returning show because of it being a Grey's spinoff.

I can't wait till the new Fall season either! There are alot of new shows I want to try, but also some old tried and true ones. Our line-up is going to go like this (for now);

Sunday
8pm - Extreme Makeover:Home Edition (while hubby watches NFL on another TV, especially if the Cowboys are playing!)
9pm - Cold Case
10pm - Shark

Monday
8pm - Chuck* (while hubby watches NFL on another TV, especially if the Cowboys are playing!)
9pm - Heroes or K-Ville*
10pm - Journeyman* or CSI:Miami
(I saw K-Ville last week and it was really good, but I'm a BIG fan of Heroes.)

Tuesday
8pm - Bones or NCIS
9pm - House or Eureka
10pm - Law & Order: SVU or Cane*

Wednesday
8pm - Deal or No Deal or Back to You* or Pushing Daisies*
9pm - Bionic Woman* or Criminal Minds or Ghost Hunters (but I can see a replay @ 11pm)
10pm - Life* or CSI:NY

Thursday
8pm - Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader?
9pm - CSI:Crime Scene Investigation
10pm - Without a Trace or Big Shots*

Friday
8pm - Deal Or No Deal or Smarter than 5th Grader
9pm - Las Vegas or Moonlight*
10pm - Numb3rs

Saturday
Replays of shows I missed
11pm - Mad TV
12pm - SNL

* = new show
We're going to give the new shows a try first and see whether we want to watch them or stick with the old ones. We can catch the replays of some of them on Saturday night though. And, unfortunetly, we don't have TiVo and can't get it where we live. :(
I know it seems like we're glued to the TV, but we're not really. Except for an occasional replay at 11 or 12pm, we only watch during the 3 hrs. of Prime Time. The rest of the time I'm at school or glued to the computer doing homework and, of course, on Storm2K! But I'm up till 2 or 3am anyway, so it's no big deal.

Happy watching everyone!!

I just like toooooo many shows!!!
I'll watch Desperate Housewives, Boston Legal, 2 1/2 men, Ugly Betty, House, Private Practice, Dancing with the Stars and Bones. I sometimes have to keep the remote in my hand so I can switch back and forth from show to show. Now that's just crazy!!

Bionic Woman is also being re-run on SciFi on Fridays at 7pm. I watched the premiere of Bionic Woman (I've also seen The Sarah Connor Chronciles, the first two episodes of S2 of Dexter and along with previous mentions of Pushing Daisies and The Reaper.) I wasn't impressed enough with show to give it a try. I think rather watch/tape Kitchen Nightmares and Private Practice. The Bionic Woman was at the bottom of heap of premieres leaked early.

Yeah I've been hearing Bionic Woman was not that great(and that was the best reviews, some were much worse). I'm not watching because it's not the type of show I watch, but it's likely gonna killed against Criminal Minds and Private Practice anyway.

CBS is the only network station I don't seem to watch anything on. I never noticed that. Strange.

Chuck is on tonight. It's not really my type of show, but I've heard positive things about it!

LOL, I don't watch much on CBS in the Fall either(or FOX).

But The CW is the real loser. At least I'm NOT alone in not watching them. :P

Chuck's pilot is great apparently. I saw some clips(posted up thread), and I'm really looking forward to it.

Ugh, I FREAKING hate everything about that show. The premise, the promos, the cast, everything. Definitely the WORST show of the Fall. :18:

and it's really bad when there's NOTHING on Tuesday at 8 and I'm STILL not watching it!
