Costco 10/6/07. Two months and three weeks before Christmas, there's already some Christmas items up in a small section.

I've seen Costco sell Christmas items on Labor Day. I like Christmas like the next guy, but this is ridiculous.

I've noticed xmas merch infiltrating holiday aisles, mixed in with Fall/Halloween, etc.

Just the other day my local Kroger's had a xmas card sale table, and the odd thing was it was placed near the exit, after you bought your groceries and were leaving the store. I thought - how odd! Just a friendly reminder from Kroger's that xmas is not that far off? LOL!

Same here!! I was at Lowe's today and couldn't miss the Christmas section. Even though I wasn't looking for one I did not see anything for Halloween or fall as far as a section like they have for Christmas.

Our local Macy's stores have had Christmas decorations up since Labor Day.

When I see Bob's Candy Canes (the ONLY ones worth buying!) at the local Super D drug store, Christmas can't be far off...by at least two months or so.

Besides, I already have my Christmas cards stocked here, courtesy of the Knights Templars and an Indian school in the Dakotas. :ggreen:

I guess that it's that time to start agonizing over the budget again.

Yes, the stores around here have had them up for weeks.

This is part of the reason Christmas is not nearly as enjoyable as it used to be.

And when is shopping season supposed to start? Seems like it's always the day after Thanksgiving.

I love Christmas, don't get me wrong. But anything can be overdone. I dunno, the only place I know of that should sell Christmas stuff for this long is Bronner's in Frankenmuth, Michigan. But then, there could also be a Christmas store somewhere else that I just haven't heard of.

The budget part doesn't bother me......besides the only "budget" I'm aware of rents cars.

What gets to me are all the Christmas decorations and the Santas. Secretly, I have always feared Santas. They're so darn righteous about being good little boys and gurls. I prefer the Drunk Santas. They're alot easier to BS.

There is something about dead evergreen trees adorned with electrical components that gives me the hives something terrible. And over the coming weeks they'll be everywhere. Thank God for fresh home grown Aloe.

You're right but the sad thing is that what they have out now is what was leftover from last Christmas.

Only the toys from China with the lead paint. They have not been selling that well.

I think Halloween is getting close to being one of the forgotten times of the year.
