weatherwunder could use some happy thoughts....please.

#1 Postby weatherwunder » Wed Aug 06, 2003 10:33 am

I mentioned in an earlier post that I was going to go in next week for a stress test. Well my doctor called this morning (I am on vacation this week), and they want to do the test today. So, I am on my way to the heart clinic to take the test (I didn't even have time to study! LOL)

I am really nervous about this, and the doctor said since there is a history of heart problems in my family, he wanted to get things going.

I will check in later today, after this is all over.

Prayers for you Weatherwunder (jeff) - at least your doctor is on top of things. I hope your results are good.

What's the saying, "an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure".

Like Bfez said RELAX and we'll keep you in our prayers that everything goes well with the test.

Well, the good news is I survived the stress test.

The other not so good news is: The test showed something going on. However, I am going to have a heart cath tommorro morning at 7am.

The doctor said I will probably be home by late afternoon if everything goes well.

This is kinda scary at 40 years old, but the doc says it is not uncommon, especially with history in my family.

This is going to mean some lifestyle changes for me. To start things off, I came home, and threw away the remainder of a pack of cigarettes and my lighter.

Thanks for all your good thoughts, I really, really appreciate it.

Great job! Sometimes you need that "kick" to help you stop smoking. I'm sorry to hear that something is going on, but at least now you're taking care of it! We'll be praying for ya!

Jeff, that is kinda scarey. I'm so glad you threw those cigs away. I'm sending positive and happy thoughts your way. Prayers are coming from the Burgh too.

Your headed in the right direction my friend.
Take care and try not to be nervous. Sounds like you have a great doctor.

Take care my friend

Jeff......sending positive vibes your way! You are wise to heed the Doctors suggestions now! You are still a young fella........I know there are those here who can help you thru the challenges of giving up the smoking........this is a very supportive group!

Your post reminded me of a friend who took one of those "stress tests" printed in a "Good Housekeeping" magazine a few years back. She told me she knew I was too busy, so SHE took it for me.........she told me I wasn't doing so good!

Take care of yourself now........life passes by much too quickly!......p

Jeff.......your in my thoughts and prayers this evening, the best of luck to you and a GREAT job on throwing out the butts!

I've had 2 stress tests over the past coupla years for the same thing, heart problems runs on both sides of the family.......I was doing pretty good until they injected that stuff in your veins to stress out the heart, thought "MAN.....if this is what it's like to have a heart attack!" Once again my friend, good luck and I'm thinkin about ya!

Jeff....you are one of the lucky ones. YOU can control your own destiny and your own future. Some people never get the chance.

Good luck with the further tests and let us know that you are ok.
